Next on the hit list…
In pure AJ fashion last night, we finally got our first Firelands heroic kill with Shannox. If you've been with the guild long enough, the kill came as no surprise. It seemed as though we weren't making any progress, our 8th attempt (go Wendy!) we downed him quite easily.
Great job everyone with hanging in there. A special thanks to Zotak for sitting last night; really appreciate it and I hope your pug was good.
I mentioned this last night, but I highly encourage everyone to at least check this site to get a good base of what you may need to change. This helped me dramatically, and the healers confirmed this... My block was improved easily by 15%. Check the site out and let me know your results. I know Chris mentioned another site... Chris, let me know what resources you've found in the comments.
With our first heroic boss down, what do you guys think should be next? I'm thinking Rhyolith should be our next target. What are your thoughts?

Happy Halloween
Happy Monday everyone, and Happy Halloween! It's a new week and tonight is our continuation of the raid from last Wednesday. Some of us may not be there tonight, depending on time zones and children. I will try to be there tonight, if not on time for sure later... It just depends on my kids and their trick-or-treatage. Word.
Have a great week everyone... Let's knock down Ragnaros tonight, and continue working on heroics.

To raid or not to raid…
Without going into vast amounts of details, decisions, etc... I want to bring up some simple facts so everyone is on the same page. I spoke to another guildie about this; as well as my officers in the past. First off, I've been leading raids and a guild for many years and I know one simple thing... I can't make everyone happy. There's always going to be hurt feelings, disappointment and disagreement.
What I do want to do, is keep the same feel and pace we are familiar with; without causing additional drama. This is the period where most guilds fall apart (the lull between expansions). We'll be here, even if we don't raid...
Anyway, what I want everyone to do is this... Sign up early for the raids. The day before, we will be choosing who is primary and who is backup. If you sign up, you are expected to at least show up (even if you are backup) to make sure the primary is on and raiding. We will try and integrate people as needed to maximize the raid makeup as well as give people what bosses/gear they need.
At this point, there are a few of us who need minimal (or nothing). Also, if you raided on Wednesday and still need the second half; you will get preferential treatment for Monday. If there's nothing you need, please put yourself as 'tentative'.
I'll discuss this more in depth tonight. See you all then!

World of Warcraft… again… and again…

Carebear STARE!
Mists of Pandaria, eh? Well, I'm not much on the new expansion... I just kept waiting to see an April Fools type joke, or a big LOL... Nope, looks for real.
So now we get to play Kung-Fu Panda.
*sigh*

What the heck is a RSS feed and how did it get on my computer?
By the time I've figured out how to add something to this lovely <cough> message board, they'll have discovered a new and improved way to communicate - telepathy for instance - but I digress. Ah, I've been granted permission to post (thanks Mr. Moderator).
Seriously though - thanks for allowing us to have a place to "gather" and socialize outside of WoW, Shane. I appreciate it.

This is a house of learning doctors.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. For the record, I recently moved to Florida and as the fall comes; I'm really surprised on how I've adapted. I lived in Baltimore for most of my life and just checked their weather... 45-degrees (F)... Here, it's 70 and I'm a bit chilly... strange.
Anyway, I'm hoping to have a Ragnaros kill tonight. I know Zotak will be out today, and I haven't heard from Chris or Erin (anyone?). For those of you who haven't been signing up for raids; please do so. Even if you CANT make it; it really helps the leaders out a ton knowing who is and who isn't coming.
I love the seasonal events, and its a really good time to get to know your other guildies. Go and do some quests together, and hang out. Remember, the guild has lasted this long due to having fun in the game and relationships... Grab a buddy, or someone new and run a dungeon, pvp or seasonal event!

Happy Friday, Hammers….
Just wanted to write a quick post for your weekend enjoyment. If you haven't read any of the news about the 4.3 patch; there's a lot to take in. Not only will there be additional content; there are some new mechanics. You may want to check your particular class for any changes.
I'm excited about seeing the new dungeons; which seem to be kind of like the WotLK dungeons... but for Cataclysm. What I find most interesting is the LFR (looking for raid) finder. Not only can you simply pug yourself, but you can queue more than one. What this means is... we can take our core group and queue up for a 25-man raid and still be together. Much nicer than simply trying to find a full-on pug.
Hope Chris is feeling better, but I haven't heard from him... So Chris, if you are reading this... GET BETTER!
Other than that, have an awesome weekend everyone. Hope to see you on at some point for some dungeons and PvP. I'm optimistic we will have our first Ragnaros kill on Monday.

Patch 4.3 is now on the PTR !
So the patch 4.3 that will bring us Deathwing is now on the PTR, and the spell changes have been data mined.

What does your user interface look like?
Hi AJ! I am wanting to see what screen add ons my fellow raiders are using. I'd like to clean up my screen and increase efficiency of my screen.
Currently I use: Tidy Plates and Pitbull for unit frames
Do most of you use bartender or what?
Encase it matters, my current main characters being played: 85 DK, War and Holy Pally, leveling druid, rogue, and warlock.
Look forward to reading peoples suggestions and responses.
