Alien Jackhammer has invaded the Star Wars universe! We are stationed on Davik's Estate, which is a PvP East server.  Our focus will be PvE, and our goal is to establish a casual-to-moderate 16 man raid, scheduling times to hit operations twice a week (TBA).

Please whisper Livid, Soomer, or Gryffin for an invite to guild if you are a current member of AJ.  If you are new, please post a little bit about yourself on our forums.

    Haha, the new Soomer is going to be a powertech, probably tank spec (cause I’ve never done that before and JET CHARGE) also I can impersonate the voice actor (movie voice). Mike is going to merc it hard, merc it real good. My buddy is absolutely dead set on rolling inquisitor sorcerer and someone was talking about rolling Marauder.

      Guild name is Veracity. I kinda like it. Early access emails are being sent out starting December 13th so if you happened to pre-order you will probably get it. The sooner you pre-ordered the better chance you will have of getting in sooner. Wouldn’t worry to much about it though.

      Yea, I’m not sure I even want to call my first character my main even if I do name him Soomer. I already know I’m gonna level up a sith jugg and an IA op, while I’m at it might as well do an SI assassin. Just not sure on the order.

    I was just browsing the guilds on the site and I ran across something interesting. 3 of the larger guilds on Arthas are going to be playing swtor, Adelante Balance and Security are all going to be on pvp us-east servers. If we all ended up on the same server it would be the best example of SSDG (Same Shit Different Game) I’ve seen O.o

    Received my early access email just now, too bad I’m stuck at stupid work . Once I get off of.work , in like 6-7 hours, ill have to figure a way to get a guild.invite .

    Also I.have about 6 others that are going to be filtering in through the next week that would like invites as well

    can anyone point me in the direction of the Vent info? I had to reformat my computer a while back and wasn’t able to save anything and i dont want to re-install wow and patch it in just to see the vent info. So, if anyone has it for us to use in swtor please do not be shy =)

    I spoke to a couple of people about it that don’t play… I figure I’ll give the game 2-months before I give it a shot. If it can still be viable in two-months; I’ll try it out.

    Glad you are liking it, and excited that much of the guild has stuck together.

    There are a few bugs– not as clean as WoW which has had 7 years to hone things. But it is VERY familiar to anyone who has played WoW. I have planned on playing this for a long time rather than jumping back into WoW, and so far I’m happy with it. Nice to have a fresh start in a game.

    Mike and I talked today about the swtor guild, and he asked if I could lead it since his time is limited. I talked to the bossman (Shane) about it, and he’s cool with that. I’m thinking a casual-to-moderate PvE guild. Gonna change the name to Alien Jackhammer for continuity sake, which means creating a new guild and those that are in Veracity switching to it. If that’s too much of a headache, we can keep things as-is. Would probably start actively recruiting once I hit 50.

    Feel free to share any opinions.

      So I am putting in all three names: Comet, Vau, and Vevut in the social add friend section and it says all three do not exist. I Am on the Davik Estate server, not sure what is the reason behind the issue.

      My main is same as on WoW, Artemous. Created a Sith Inquisitor if anyone wants and is able to look me up.

    Just so everyone knows, Mike, Mark, and I moved our mains to another guild for raiding purposes since everyone else is leveling. We’ve made a good connection with Tauntaun Tacos, and we’ll see where it goes. They seem to have the same focus and goals as us. I’ve made my alt, Ninety-Eight, the Guildmaster of AJ for now.

        yeah, I’m not sure since the 50s jumped ship to raid , i thought we were going to start recruiting? And since the forums have server specific forums we can advertise there as well…

          Well, from experience… I suggest continuing to recruit. If you only need 8 to raid; it shouldn’t be too hard to get a few more. Keeping things within the guild is much better than the eventual drama that unfolds when you start mixing guilds (trust me).

            No plans to merge guilds, though we were asked about it. Simply wanting to raid. I tried recruiting some 50s and wasn’t getting anywhere. I’m on my alt, which is the guildmaster now, and I’ll keep trying.

    Cool. I hope it all works out! I’m sure if the game matures; more of the AJ crew (including myself) will eventually wander over. I know a few people that are interested and just waiting to see if SWTOR can survive the first three or four months.

      And Justin, I just want to apologize if you feel abandoned. Mike, Mark, and I aren’t giving up AJ. We just needed stuff to do once we hit 50. Got old trying to find a pug for 4 man hardmodes and not being able to do the endgame content. The current AJers are leveling slowly, which is fine. We just needed to find a pool of 50s to run stuff with, and General chat wasn’t cutting it.

    I’m not sure I understand the dynamics of SWTOR over WoW… but I’ll just give one piece of GM advice (since I’ve been doing it for 5-yrs and have some street cred)…. Guilds won’t work until you put people first. Even if it means sacrificing your ‘desires’ and ‘ambitions’… I’m not being pricky or anything… Just the way it is.

    Why has the WoW guild lasted so long? Because we’ve focused on having fun together more than progression.

      Agreed. Relationships form and are strengthened by playing together. Can’t really do that until other people hit 50. Or just keep rolling alts, but I tend to focus on one toon.

      Honestly, progression isn’t a big deal in this game. Raiding is pretty easy, and they’ve made endgame content very accessible to the casual player. Gear isn’t much to brag over because everyone can end up with good gear fairly quickly. Totally different from vanilla and TBC days where raiding was a full time job if you wanted to have good gear.

    They made changes to the way the GCD displays on your action bars , people didnt like it so they “fixed” it on the Test Servers that youll be able to choose how it shows the GCD on your action bars

    Its kind of neat when they actually fix something then give you options to adjust it the way you like , instead of listening to only the loudest people

      I didn’t like the change at first, but only because it was different. Now that I’m used to it, I have no problems at all.

      This is just my opinion, but… I have to say in general that I’m unhappy with Bioware’s communication with their community. I’ve put in a lot of tickets, and I’ve never gotten anything more than a “Thank you for submitting…” auto-email. I have always been VERY impressed with Blizzard’s customer service. I would submit a ticket and within an hour I would get an ingame polite conversation with a GM. And I always had my issue addressed immediately. I don’t know if this was in place at WoW’s launch, but it was in vanilla. Bioware has none of this, and it’s disappointing. I remember once when I bought the wrong item by accident with a tier token (back in TBC) and the GM replaced it with the item I meant to buy. I did the same thing in SWTOR last week, and my ticket was deleted without even a response of any kind. It pretty much said to me, “Sorry loser, you chose wrong. Live with it and don’t bother us any more.” I didn’t like it.

      Hopefully the game thrives and their customer service improves. The game is great, but endgame bugs and poor customer service continue to exist. It needs to change.

    That’s really disappointing… Customer service goes a LONG way. I worked in the ‘support’ business for years. Even if you are swamped to death… a simple call/email saying “hey… we know yer crap is effed up… but Im gonna fix it at some point….’

    I’ve found as long as you are in touch with a customer, and don’t leave them high-and-dry; you’ll earn their respect. ANY company in this type of market; needs to have a small army of Indians working at 3$ an hour to respond personally to emails and in-game requests.

    And I also agree… Blizz has been great for customer service; even as big as they are. Anytime the guild is ‘hacked’ and our bank dumped; the very next day I have a personal email from a GM and stuff back in my mailbox.

    Anyway, lets cross our fingers.
