Spine of Getonmyfreakingnerves
Well, we finally got this stupid 'boss' done. After so many raider changes; it seems we have a nice full group again with some fantastic people. We also had some great attempts on Deathwing himself; but came up a little short at the end. I'm sure next week after the nerf; we will have no problems downing him.
Here's the screenshot of stupid Spine of Deathwing...
Also... I'm going to be doing some PvP tonight (Friday). Let's do it up!
Time to make it rain!
Hope everyone had a good extended weekend, and you paid homage to past presidents and bought some furniture.... With that said, thesis going to be a good week for raiding. I'm confident that we will finally make some serious progression.
It's been a real struggle with the roster changes, and really do appreciate everyone who has played a role and stuck around.
One small issue... melee... As of now, we really only have one solid melee (Josh) and really need another. We do have some new people and am excited seeing them sign up and willing to raid. The issue is, however, is that they are priest(s) and ranged. And their alts are ranged as well. We do have a new paladin; and I'm hoping he signs up...
I'm going to reaching out to the group this week and see if we have another melee that wants to regularly raid.
Have a great week!
Happy Friday Eve.
Just a quick reminder... Tonight is progression night; and I really want to kill some new stuff. I know we've had problems on the last two fights; but I'm confident that starting fresh on Gunship will really give us a good edge.
We had a good signup on Tuesday, and I'm about to go approve raiders for tonight.
On a side happy/sad note... Scott won't be raiding on Thursdays with us for a while, because he and his wife are doing birthing classes. Congratulations Scott and wifey! Can't wait to see a new Jackhammer wearing a baby Horde onesie.
Lastly... I know I've mentioned this, but don't just log on to raid guys. We have a ton of fun doing some PvP at night (or during the day). If you haven't PvP'ed with us... give it a shot; I'm sure you'll be back for more.
What Dreams May Come…
I wouldn't say I've been doing too many LFR; however last night I had a nightmare that the world was taken over by these multi-colored globules that mysteriously traveled in 3s. What was the most terrifying is I was not with my family. I was traveling with a doctor who had a strange tendancy to go off road down grassy lanes and onto dirt roads. Yes. Yes, that makes perfect sense. Let's take this non off road vehicle - off road - when we're fleeing for our lives from giant jelly creatures that devour everything in sight. For anyone who has ever read or seen a horror movie, you know that one of the unwritten rules is NEVER stop a perfectly good vehicle and leave it. Period. Well, my traveling companion (the doctor) heard a baby crying and just could not ignore it. Hey - you and I know that's the oldest trick in the book to get someone to stop and leave a perfectly good vehicle behind. I'm fairly certain the Zombie Survival Guide would apply in this case and I should have left his ass behind and kept driving. I really, really wish I had. Instead, I was the dutiful (pfft) dream Jamie and got out of the car to follow the sounds of the crying baby.
We came upon an encampment of other survivalist and yet some how they had houses and I think - but I'm not 100% - there was a Starbucks. So that answers the age-old question of what would really survive a global annilation - and that would be cockroaches and Starbucks.
Now this is where it gets a little hazy. We did find the house with the crying baby and once the family discovered my companion was a doctor we were immediately offered shelter. Then some young girls thought it was a stellar idea to go to Starbucks for coffee because let's face it - if you're gonna die why not go down with a cup of coffee in your hands. For whatever reason, my motherly instincts (which I try to leave behind in any nightmare) decided to kick in and I went with them. When we arrived we went into this weird faze where the "evil" survivalists wanted to take advantage of the situation by being very, very, very evil indeed. This was actually the scariest part of my dream. One of the young girls that had accompanied us went missing. However it wasn't from one of the globules that we could see for miles and miles surrounding us - she was taken by one of the evil survivalist. At some point in all of this, the entire camp could see a horse being attacked by the globules, so someone shot it to put it out of its misery.
Then I woke up.
A few things of note of what I'm going through right now. My son just moved out this week and rather than deal with it I've been ignoring it. My daughter works at Starbucks and some mornings needs to be at work at 4:30am so guess who gets to drive her. Ed ususally does because he's a morning person, but he's been very sick this week so I'm filling in. I just thought it was interesting how some of these things played into my nightmare.
So - what have you been dreaming about this week? And do you think dreams have a deeper meaning other than our brain working through the mess that's in there?
Rebecca Black plays Warcraft.
Friday. Yes. Friday, I'm in love with you... and Robert Smith (The Cure) also plays Warcaft. And I hope you got both Friday references.
Anyway... I think we are almost there, with Deathwings Spine.... Tuesday, we should easily down this.
On a side note... I've really gotten back into PvP and hope you will join me. I forgot how fun it is to kill Alliance. Make sure you ask around before you queue up!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Today’s mini patch… (4.3.2)
Check this out and read it... There's actually a lot of 'little' changes that make a BIG difference in not only your class; but also the raids and encounters.
Upcoming nerf
So... just as in WoTLK... we are getting a wide-raid nerf. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not, but at this point we'll take it.
About last night... I'm still concerned with certain aspects of the raid. Our DPS was there as well as healing. However, some of the mechanics are just not falling into line. At this point in our progression, we shouldn't be wiping on Gunship (or whatever it's called) and should be on Deathwing.
I'm hoping this nerf will get us through our troubled areas. It's important that everyone really starts tweaking their gear. I saw a few times where people weren't food buffed or flasked. There's no excuse for it. We have a guild bank filled with gold, food and flasks. If theres something you don't have... ask!
Ok all... See you tomorrow for our progression night.
Knowing is half the battle.
Greetings Jackhammers! The weekend is upon us, and I want you all to reconsider our current raid objectives. The upcoming nerf will help, of course, but we need to recruit another dedicated DPS. Please keep your eyes open, and continue to sign up for raids.
We did have two new people last night; but they were sorely under geared and up to par for DPS. They did great as far as mechanics; but the DPS just wasn't there.
I'll be trying to recruit this weekend, and encourage you to do the same.
Have a great weekend!
Alms for the poor…
Hey all! It's that time of the year again... I just renewed our web hosting as well as another year of Ventrilo service. As always, there is zero pressure to donate... but it is appreciated! The server hosting is $130 a year (with domain registration) and the Vent server is $60 a year... Thanks Wendy for the generous donation!
Again, this is totally optional... but if you do feel like donating a dollar or two; you can PayPal me at: [email protected]
Have an awesome weekend, Hammers!
